Home School Agreement
The School
We will:
- ensure that God is at the heart of everything we do;
- ensure that we always prioritise our responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of each child
- provide an inclusive safe, secure, happy and stimulating environment;
- ensure that each child receives a rich, broad and balanced education, which supports their needs and enables them to maximise their potential throughout the whole curriculum;
- provide an environment where everyone is valued and respected, and in which their self-esteem is enabled to flourish;
- provide a clean, tidy, well ordered environment;
- be open and welcoming at all times and offer opportunities for parents to be involved in the daily life of the school;
- inform parents /guardians about school policies, activities and opportunities through regular newsletters, booklets and notices;
- inform parents /carers about what teachers plan to teach each term, and of their child(ren)’s progress through termly meetings and annual reports;
The Family
We will:
- support our child in growing in their faith journey;
- ensure that our child arrives at school by 8.45 each day [11:50 a.m. for afternoon Nursery] and is properly dressed in correct school uniform;
- ensure that our child is collected promptly at 3pm;
- ensure that our child attends school regularly, at least 95% of school time, that we telephone the school early on the first day of absence and provide a note of explanation when our child returns to school;
- make sure that our child is ready to learn by ensuring s(he) has adequate sleep;
- value all members of the school community and appreciate their differences;
- be prepared to trust the professionalism of the staff by sharing concerns and being open and honest;
- support the school’s, aims, policies and values;
- support our child and the school by attending meetings and open evenings;
- support our child in homework tasks and other opportunities for home learning;
- encourage our child in all aspects of their education and celebrate their achievements;
- Follow the complaints procedure as detailed in the School Prospectus. I will not approach another child or parent to discuss any disputes;
- park with consideration for others at the beginning and end of each day e.g. not on zig-zags, double-parked or across driveways;
The Child
I will:
- follow the St Winifred’s Way. ‘We are Ready, Respectful and Safe’;
- represent my school with respect and pride at all times;
- do what I am asked by adults who work in our school;
- be polite, kind and friendly to others;
- sort out problems without hurting others, ask for adult help when I need it;
- forgive and make up when differences have been resolved;
- value other people’s differences and respect their feelings;
- appreciate and celebrate successes of others;
- always be prepared to try, and to do my best in all my schoolwork and homework;
- listen to adults and to other children;
- consider others by sharing resources and taking turns;
- be proud of and look after my school environment;
- wear my school uniform proudly, ensuring I look neat and tidy;
- prevent accidents by walking around the school quietly;
